Dylan Leighton brings together three different skillsets in Psychology, Creativity and Technology into strategic consulting. An advocate of blockchain and decentralization, he describes himself as a ‘digital rebel’. As part of the Digital Knowledge Exchange ‘Zoom Webinars’ Season Two, Dylan will be delivering a three-part special all about how to build a high-converting digital sales funnel.
What is your business motto?
In the absence of data, it’s all guesswork….and then you’re f**ked.
How do you make contacts that are useful for business?
Both online and offline. I have spent years teaching and training adults. My favourite way of making contacts is usually to do something outrageous to get attention.
What makes your business different?
I focus specifically on strategies which are slightly different from the norm. I use a combination of psychological techniques and specialist technology solutions, as well as strong data analytics, to come up with some pretty way-out-there campaigns.
What essential item(s) do you always have with you?
Do you dress up or dress down for business?
I’m a rebel. It’s not uncommon for me to be wearing a Black Sabbath T-shirt in meetings.
Which person has inspired you the most in your career and in what way?
I guess you’d like me to say some business guru or other, but actually over the last 6 years or so it’s been my little girl, who reminds me daily that it’s important to have fun. Prior to that it was my grandfather, whose values and imparted wisdom remain part of my core to this day.
What is your proudest achievement in business?
It’s hard to say. I’ve been all over the world and done some really interesting things. I can’t really say one thing that’s made me most proud. I work on the basis that in everything I do, it should be done magnificently.
What’s your company’s greatest asset?
If you hadn’t gone down your chosen career path, what would you be doing
Professional musician, but I probably would have joined the 28 and dead club, so probably best I didn’t.

Data trumps guessing. Always.
At what time of the day are you most creative and inspired?
How do you relax away from work?
I have a 6 year-old home-educated daughter. Time for relaxation is at a premium. However, I am a musician, and I’m often found playing my piano, one of my plethora of guitars, or sat in my recording studio until the wee small hours.
When do you take your coffee break?
Sat on my balcony whenever I feel like it.
