The latest phase of our Digital Growth Voucher scheme has proven to be a resounding success with hundreds of businesses applying for funding to help them upgrade their digital technology so that they can grow and remain competitive in the digital age.
Phase three of the scheme, which ran between 23 April and 15 June 2018, saw over 220 businesses applying for up to £10,000 of funding for a digital transformation project – with vouchers covering at least 50 per cent of the cost of new technology.
To date, over 1,000 businesses have applied for Digital Growth Voucher funding since the scheme was launched in October 2016, and Digital Enterprise has provided over £2.6 million of funding for digital projects. This investment is set to deliver a boost of over £6 million to the regional economy and generate over 1,500 jobs.
Under the last phase small and medium sized businesses operating in a business to business (B2B) environment could apply for between £2,000 and £10,000 of funding to be used towards new IT hardware and software, or to upgrade broadband connectivity. Applications were received from businesses across the Leeds City region and our team of Digital Growth Advisors are currently working with eligible applicants to progress their projects.
Phase four of the scheme, which will open in October 2018 is already being hotly anticipated by businesses who are keen to undertake a digital investment project. The next phase will see a number of changes to the scheme so that we can further improve on the assistance we can provide – most notably, businesses who have received funding in a previous phase will for the first time be able to reapply for Digital Growth Voucher funding for a new digital transformation project.
Businesses who have received Digital Growth Voucher funding in the past will also be able to join the Digital Knowledge Exchange, which provides access to expertise and advice on deploying digital solutions so that they can develop their business including digital audits, workshops, conferences and one-to-one mentoring.
We will be communicating the re-launch of the Digital Growth Voucher scheme in late summer/early Autumn using a variety of channels, including our newsletter, social media and events and presentations that we are planning to hold including the next Go Digital – Live! event on Monday 8th October.
Further information on the next phase of our Digital Growth Voucher scheme will be available on our website prior to its launch.
