Innovation is the key to business transformation. That’s the belief of Lee Carter, Director of Parable Global, a company which helps its clients change the way they work through the power of engineering projects. Here, Lee shares how the company leveraged strategic funding and support to ignite a period of rapid growth, allowing it to add even greater value to the businesses it supports.
For Lee Carter, innovation has always been a calling. It’s a drive he’s carried since his days as an apprentice engineer, learning the ropes on the shop floor. That’s where he learned the art of precision, an attention to detail that would eventually become the foundation of Parable Global. Nearly a decade later, Lee now helms this thriving engineering and design business, tackling complex challenges for clients around the world with a unique blend of technical expertise and creativity.
About Parable Global
Parable Global specialises in high-level technical design, covering a wide spectrum of projects. The team has tackled everything from shop fitting to software-driven machinery for clients as varied as large multinational businesses such as Charlotte Tilbury, United Autosports, and Amazon, along with local businesses that are pushing boundaries in their own industries. As Lee puts it: “We’ve positioned ourselves in a way that allows us to tackle projects of any scale. Our clients know they can come to us with any challenge, and we make it happen.”
One of Parable Global’s strengths lies in its commitment to building frictionless processes. The company’s approach to design is rooted in a deep understanding of technical engineering, but it’s the way the team works with clients that truly sets them apart.
Lee describes it as a collaborative effort: “We put a lot of thought into making our processes as seamless as possible. This not only helps us meet our clients’ needs but also allows us to adapt and innovate as we go. It’s part of what makes us a good fit for so many different industries.”
The Challenge and the Need for Support
But even with its success, Parable Global wasn’t immune to the growing pains that come with rapid growth. In recent years, the company hit a few roadblocks that made it clear the team needed to take a step back and reassess their approach.
“We were expanding quickly, but there were some sticking points that we couldn’t ignore,” Lee says. “We realised we needed to rethink our strategy and figure out a way to continue growing without compromising the quality of our work.”
That’s where Digital Enterprise came in. For Lee, finding the right kind of support was crucial. He needed a funding provider that understood Parable Global’s goals and was willing to work with them to achieve those ambitions. After exploring various options, Digital Enterprise emerged as the ideal solution.
Lee recalls: “We had looked at different funding opportunities, but they either didn’t align with our strategy, or they limited our flexibility. When we connected with Digital Enterprise, they understood where we were headed and came up with a funding solution that really suited our needs.
Digital Enterprise Funding and Digital Transformation
“For us it wasn’t simply about finding funding, it was about finding the right funding. It was a key strategic choice that needed the correct solutions to help deliver our vision. Working with our Digital Advisor, Martin Howarth, was incredibly useful and helped us understand how this programme could enhance our position to move forward.”
The support from Digital Enterprise has already started to pay off. Parable Global’s latest project involves implementing a new system to streamline its processes and integrating new technologies that will allow the company to scale more efficiently.
This new approach enables the team to foster a fast-paced environment for creativity while maintaining high levels of traceability across the organisation. Parable Global’s designs consist of thousands of individual, interconnected 3D models that need to work seamlessly together. This advanced system, similar to those used by Red Bull F1, NASA, and SpaceX controls access rights, manages model revisions, assesses impacts across components, and ensures product functionality throughout its lifecycle.
It’s an ambitious plan, one that will enable the team to handle an even broader range of projects without missing a beat.
“We’ve been able to make significant improvements that are already having an impact,” Lee shares. “Our clients are noticing the difference, and it’s positioning us for some exciting growth in the year ahead.”
This most recent project also builds upon the success of previous Digital Enterprise support, with an £11,205 grant enabling Parable Global to implement a powerful cutting-edge technological infrastructure. This advanced setup allows the team to run multiple demanding applications concurrently – a capability achieved by only a select few in the industry.
Outcomes, Growth and Future Ambitions
The digital transformation has also given Parable Global the flexibility to explore new areas of innovation. Lee is particularly excited about the possibilities this opens up.
He continues: “We’re not just growing—we’re growing in a way that allows us to continue to innovate. That is still fundamental to us as a company. But now we’re working with a stronger foundation, and that allows us to deliver even more value to our clients.”
Looking ahead, Lee is optimistic about what’s to come. With Digital Enterprise’s support, Parable Global is gearing up for a year of rapid growth. It’s laying the groundwork for what promises to be an exciting phase in the company’s journey.
With the help of Digital Enterprise, Parable Global expects to:
- Increase current turnover by 275% over the period of 2025/26.
- Recruit top talent and create new roles to drive rapid growth beyond a benchmark that 92.2% of design companies find challenging to achieve.
- Engage new markets and expand current client base while maintaining laser focus on fundamental goal of providing a seamless experience and adding value to all clients.
